The hairs of the shaving brush absorb the warmth and moisture from the water and help to produce a thick, rich lather. It brings sufficient warm water to the skin to help soften hairs and open pores. The brush lifts the beard and gently exfoliates the skin, helping to relieve and prevent ingrown hairs. Treated with care, a good shaving brush should last up to 5 years.
There are three grades of badger hair used in the production of the more opulent shaving brushes: Grade 3 - Pure, Grade 2 - Super or Fine, and Grade 1 - Silvertip. Silvertip is the finest grade of badger hair, and the most coveted within the shaving fraternity. We have a selection of brushes within all grades of badger hair to suit your particular preferences.
