The Anthony Nolan Trust is the world's first and the UK's most successful bone marrow register; the Charity exist to take back lives from Leukaemia and other blood related disorders.
Brummells of London have chosen to support The Anthony Nolan Trust in raising awareness of the shortage of potential male donors in the UK and to invite you to find out more about becoming a donor.
Life Saving Work
Every year 24,000 people are diagnosed with leukaemia or a related disorder. For many their only hope of survival is a bone marrow transplant. In fact, there are currently 7,000 people waiting for a transplant from an unrelated donor. The reality is, you or the person next to you, could save someone's life.
The Anthony Nolan Trust register of bone marrow donors and other registers around the world, recruit individuals who simply are willing to donate some of their bone marrow to give a chance of life to someone in need.
"For me, someone becoming a donor is absolutely fantastic, because it's the ultimate gift that anyone could give. There aren't many opportunities where you can potentially save someone's life, and that's what becoming a donor means." A bone marrow donor.
Since 1974, The Anthony Nolan Trust has provided more than 5,000 donors worldwide. In 2006 alone, the Charity gave a chance of life to almost 600 people. It's simple; the more people that join The Anthony Nolan Trust register, the more lives can be saved.
