Scrub
Why:
A facial scrub helps to:
- Deep cleanse pores of impurities such as excess oil and blackheads
- Remove the build-up of dead skin cells more thoroughly than daily cleansing
- Help prevent and loosen ingrown hairs
Dead and dry skin cells can accumulate on the surface of the skin interfering with oxygen and water absorption, emphasize lines and wrinkles, and can leave the skin with a 'leathery' appearance. This becomes increasingly important as we grow older, due to the slowdown of the cell renewal process.
Exfoliation gives the skin a healthy appearance and helps it to function more efficiently by stimulating the skin cell renewal process.
What:
Scrubs contain granules, which are very fine particles that work to dislodge and lift off surface waste. These products should be acceptable to all skin types but caution should be taken for sensitive and acne skin types.
Do not use scrubs designed for the body as they will be too irritating for the sensitive area of the face.
When:
Twice weekly
How:
Massage product into face with warm water using gentle circular motions. It is important not to use any pressure while massaging with a granule based cleanser, or any type of skin will become irritated. Apply for 30 - 60 seconds depending on skin type, rinse well to avoid any residue which can result in dryness.
