We recently spoke to the owner of Llio, Nia, on her journey with the brand. We at Brummells of London are so excited to be stocking this fantastic brand of 'Crystoils' so were eager to find out more about the creation process.

 

CAN YOU DESCRIBE LLIO CRYSTOILS?

 

LLIO is a spiritually charged beauty brand, bath & body essential oil blends infused with gemstone crystals to create Crystoil elixirs. Crystals carry energy and vibrations of their own and power at a higher vibrational frequency. LLIO crystoils aim to raise vibrations.

 

The LOVE YOURSELF BATH & BODY CRYSTOIL is a blend of rose geranium, orange, lavender and palmarosa. Crystoil infused with rosehip, passionflower and rose quartz crystals, a gemstone to attract unconditional love. BEAUTY SLEEP BATH & BODY CRYSTOIL is a blend of lavender, rosewood and geranium charged with amethyst crystals to relax and renew, releasing stress and negative energy. HIGHER SELF BATH & BODY CRYSTOIL, a blend of citrus lemon, black pepper, and eucalyptus infused with rosehip, passionflower and Citrine crystals, a high-vibration stone to cleanse negative energies and attract abundance. MAGIC CENTRE BATH & BODY OIL is a blend to ground and balance, with a fusion of vetiver, grapefruit, geranium and vanilla essential oils infused with Obsidian crystals.

All the packaging is created in the UK, the boxes hand-cut by UK artisans and tie-dye inspired ribbon (a nod to the hippies) designed by artist Poppy Waddilove. HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO START LLIO AND WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO DO SO?

 

I started to develop LLIO 4x years ago.I studied Aromatherapy at Regents collage.I also travelled around the country and to beauty trade shows to learn about essential oils and I met with a lot of other aromatherapy enthusiasts to create blends.The brand was started in memory of my mother who passed away very suddenly.I was motivated to create a beauty brand to encourage people to really look after themselves through hard-times.My mother was a beauty therapist, who attended beauty school at the age of 16 and regularly blended oils in the family home, so a history of beauty and essential oils in the family inspired the brand.

 

WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND AND WHAT LED YOU TO THIS POINT IN LIFE?

 

I love beauty products and crystals – I wanted to create a brand that combined both in a luxury way. I also have a background in PR and I have helped many companies launch their brand and it inspired me to start LLIO.I’ve done PR for so many companies and now it’s nice to push out my own brand to press which will soon be seen in Tatler Spa Guide, VOGUE Paris and Harpers Bazaar etc

 

 

TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF, NIA?

 

A lot about me is incorporated into LLIO! I love baths, I am a professional bather, I love relaxing with bath oils, candles and so this is why I created LLIO! I am welsh, so the symbol on the bottle is the welsh symbol!I love tie-dye so

 

LLIO also gives a nod to bohemian tie-dye (we embrace our tie-dye side, especially in Ibiza!). Talented illustrator and artist POPPY WADDILOVE turned our tie-dye dreams into reality, using the colour of the crystal elixirs to draw a water-colour inspired tie-dye ribbon to go along with the brand!

 

WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR FREE TIME?

 

I love to exercise and go to BXR and Heartcore pilates.I love attending spiritual events such as gong baths at the Mandrake Hotel.I love eating out in restaurants like Jamnavar and Del Finos on my favourite street in London, Mount Street!I am a self-confessed spa hoar and love to go to a luxury spa to chill out for the day! I will be heading to Coworth Park for a spa day for my Birthday this weekend and I am trying out a massage which involves crystals!

 

 

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PRODUCT?

 

I of course, love all of the blends but if I do LOVE the MAGIC CENTRE Crystoil. It is a really grounding oil created with some very slow essential oils such as Vetiver and Vanilla, these essential oils are deep and you can literally be mesmerised by watching these oils drip into our blends, they are slow moving and can really help you when you need to ground yourself and slow down!This crystoil is infused with Obsidian crystals - a deep soul healing crystal and protective stone to ground your base chakra and absorb negative energies.

 

ARE THERE ANY PEOPLE IN LIFE WHO INSPIRED YOU?

 

I do feel so lucky, with my PR career I’ve been inspired by so many entrepreneurs and I’d love to name a few people along the way!

 

Faizia Khan, who created all the lovely branding for LLIO is very inspirational, she has been very particular about everything from the box paper quality, font size and design.Her background working with Dolce & Gabbana, Bamford, Helmut Lang, Alexander McQueen, Sonia Rykiel, Alberta Ferretti, Jimmy Choo, Versace, to name a few properly inspired this! Victoria Beckham inspired me to start LLIO, as she quote said in ES Magazine, “she believes in positive energy and has too many crystals to count.” The lovely team at Tatler, who write tongue in cheek articles about crystals all the time and have been so supportive of the brand! We love Gabrielle Bernstein, someone who modernised spirituality and crystals in the US.And finally, my Mother, inspired me the most!LLIO was very happy, joyful and kind and we’d love to give everyone a little bit of these qualities by taking a crystal charged bath and taking care of themselves!
